Waste & Recycling
The City of Le Mars contracts the hauling and disposal of residential solid waste materials in accordance with the Code of Iowa Chapter 455 and the 28E Agreement with Plymouth County.
The primary function of the wastewater facility is to clean the used water from our residents and industries before it is returned to the river.
The Water Department operates and maintains over 74 miles of underground water main, 615 fire hydrants, over 1,000 underground main line valves, and a 1 million gallon elevated tower all in the water distribution system.
